Cast Resin Insulation
Epoxy Resin Castings
Capmark specialise in the manufacture of cast and moulded components using filled epoxy resin systems. These materials exhibit properties that have applications throughout industry. The properties are modified by the selection of the filler used, typically Silica Flour or Wollastonite. The processing of these materials falls broadly into two categories, firstly vacuum casting and secondly pressure gelation. Essentially the former employs relatively low cost tooling but turn-around is limited to one/two components per day from each tool. The latter system is designed to increase output but the tooling costs are higher due to the requirement to use higher quality tool steel to avoid excessive wear. Applications include generators, transformers, bushings, switchgear components, instrument transformers and post insulators.Properties Include :- High Dielectric Strength, Moisture Resistance, Dimensional Stability, Outstanding Anti-tracking Properties, High Thermal Conductivity, Chemical Resistance and Thermal Endurance.
Capmark manufactures components varying from a few grams in weight to 350Kg. The latter are cast in a two-meter diameter autoclave.
