Filament Winding

Filament wound tubes and vessels are manufactured by winding continuous glass roving, impregnated with epoxy resin, onto a mandrel or former. The whole unit is then heat cured before the mandrel is removed.

The tube or vessel produced by this process exhibits exceptionally mechanical strength and a comparatively low weight. It also has the good dielectric properties associated with epoxy resins.
